COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M Aggies sophomore forward Tyler Davis earned Southeastern Conference honors Tuesday as he was named to the All-SEC second team, an honor he will share with freshman teammate Robert Williams.
This is the second consecutive year the Plano, Texas native is being honored by SEC coaches. In his freshman year, he earned SEC All-Freshman honors. Davis was named SEC Player of the Week on Dec. 12 and ranks 14th in the country in field goal percentage at .621. Davis averages 14.0 points per game and is 13th in the SEC in 6.9 rebounds per game, making him eighth-best in the SEC.
Davis, who stands at 6-10, has four double-doubles on the year. He was also named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District VII Team on Tuesday.
The Aggies begin their SEC Tournament play in Nashville in the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against Vanderbilt. The game can be heard on 94.1 FM ESPN Texarkana with pregame at 5:30 and Dave South on the play-by-play.
