Wacha falls in New York 4-3

NEW YORK — Michael Wacha’s six-game winning streak comes to an end with loss at Yankee Stadium 4-3.

Wacha entered game with six-game winning streak dating back to last year which was tied for fourth-best active streak in majors. The loss puts Wacha’s career record vs Yankees at 0-1.

After walking Gardner to start the second Wacha gave up a two-run home run to Starling Castro to tie the game 2-2. He quickly answered by striking out the next three batters to end the inning.

Wacha pitched six complete innings to increase his career innings pitched to 503. The loss drops Wacha below .500 in career interleague play with a record of 4-5.
