Caleb Bolden’s two homers lift Hawks to district title

TEXARKANA — Caleb Bolden launched two home runs as Pleasant Grove bashed Liberty Eylau 11-1 to clinch the District 14-4A title Tuesday night at Hawk field.

Bolden’s first home run, a solo shot leading off the third inning broke a 1-1 tie. His second, a monstrous two run homer to center field gave the Hawks a 5-1 lead in the fourth inning.

The Hawks (24-2, 8-0) combined for 15 hits and ended the game early with a six-run 5th inning to ten-run rule Liberty Eylau.

Cade Thompson followed up a four hit game on Friday with three hits against the Leopards. Bolden, Heath Ferguson, Carson Cox, Connor Oullette and Tyler Jeans each had two hits for PG.

On the mound Tyler Jeans gave up five hits, one walk and struck out five to up his record to 8-0. He gave up only a second inning unearned run, after his defense committed two errors.

LE fell to 2-6 in district play.
