LHP, Caleb Dunn received the call to pitch in the mid-week showdown with Ouachita Baptist University.

The OBU Tigers would get on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd inning. They would record 2 hits and 2 walks in the inning to plate their 2 runs.

In the top of the 4th, TAMUT would take the lead with a 4 run inning. Zachary Boehler would get the inning going with a single to left. George Gugino ripped an RBI single to put the Eagles on the board. Madison Roberts followed with a double to deep center for an RBI to even it up 2-2. Austin Vicknair would join in and grab an RBI on a single to give TAMUT the lead. Darren Alexander finished off the inning with an RBI single up the middle. Caleb Dunn would be relieved of his duties after tossing 3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and striking out a batter. Neiko Martinez would enter in relief and toss a shutout inning in the bottom half of the 4th.

Martinez would get in trouble in the bottom of the 5th inning. He would hit the first two batters in the inning and a sacrifice bunt would move them up a base. A ground out would bring in a run followed by a single as the Tigers evened it up at 4-4. Martinez would relieved of his duties and would be replaced by Jon Micahel Cunningham in th 6th inning. Cunningham would toss shutout innings in the 6th and 7th inning to hold the score at 4-4.

Alec Rios would come in after Cunningham and toss one inning for the Eagles. Rios would also toss a shutout inning for TAMUT.

In the top of the 9th, Wyatt Miller was called upon to pinch hit and he would deliver with a lead off single to left. Cole Beckham would lay down a sacrifice bunt to move Miller up to second. Cameron Frost would come to the plate with 2 outs in the inning and he would lace an RBI triple to give the Eagles a 5-4 lead. In the bottom half, TAMUT would call on Mike Herrera. Herrera would face only one batter and he would force him to fly out to center. Caleb Baker would be asked to record the final 2 outs of the inning. Baker would pick up the save and the Eagles would take the non-conference game 5-4.

TAMUT will be back in action on Friday, March 31st as they host RRAC opponent, LSU-Shreveport. Game time is scheduled for a 6:00PM start.
